Guwahati, Sep 21 (IANS) One more key charged in police headquarters torching case in Assam’s Nagaon locale on May 21 this year, has been captured, police said on Wednesday.

The charged, distinguished as Shafiqul Islam, was fleeing for quite a while.

It has been asserted that he was among the people who stripped the premises of Batadrava police headquarters on May 21 and aided set it burning.

The blamed was captured in a joint activity by Nagaon and Morigaon police.

Nagaon’s Director of Police, Leena Doley, told IANS that Islam was captured on Wednesday morning from the Moirabari region in Morigaon.

“We have previously presented the charge sheet for this situation. Islam was shown slipping away there. We were looking for him for quite a while. Presently he has been captured and the matter is being educated to the court,” she added.

The cop said that a sum of 24 people were named in the charge sheet, of which nine were before captured, two were minors, and 13 were fleeing.

“Today, we could capture another. Thus, at this point 12 individuals are as yet slipping away from the police,” Doley said.

The Batadrava police headquarters in Assam’s Nagaon region was set on fire on May 21 evening by a horde following the supposed custodial demise of a neighborhood fish dealer, who was gotten by the police on May 20 night.
